The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has said that the 2027 election would be a contest between Nigerians and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Makinde said this on Tuesday, April 15, while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
The governor decrying the challenges faced by the Peoples Democratic Party said it is time for the opposition to go back to the drawing board and get things right before the next election.
Makinde also described the PDP as the hope of the common man ahead of the 2027 election.
He said the party could not afford to Gail Nigerians again by strategizing on ways to oust power from APC.
His words, “Same thing repeated itself in 2023, we should pull back and say, look, this party still remains the major hope of the common man.
“Most people in this country, what they are saying is, “You guys will have to get yourselves together and then leave the rest to us.
“And I kept saying it, 2027 election, it won’t even be PDP vs APC; it will be Nigerians vs APC. Mark my word on that,” Makinde stated.
