3 soldiers killed as ISWAP terrorists attack Yobe community

Three soldiers of the Nigerian Military have been killed in a recent attack launched in Buni Yadi, Yobe State by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The terrorists were said to have attacked the community located about 54 kilometres away from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital city on Sunday.

According to reports, the terrorists also carted away livestock and foodstuff belonging to the community members.

A source who spoke to Sahara Reporters on the incident said, “My home town came under attack overnight by Boko Haram terrorists.

“Three soldiers were killed, and foodstuffs and livestock were carted away. However, the army collected three cars from the terrorists,” the source said.

The resident of the community also stated that the terrorists invaded the community at about 11 pm on Sunday, April 20, and continued to raid the area until 4am the next morning.

Buni Yadi has suffered several attacks by members of terrorist groups including the notorious attack where a government secondary school was invaded by the attackers.

This particular attack led to the kidnapping of over 200 students by the terrorists.
