Recall that the committee had invited Ibas to appear before it to discuss some of the happenings in Rivers State since he assumed office as the state’s Sole Administrator.

The interactive meeting between Ibas and members of the House of Representatives was earlier fixed for April 17 but was rescheduled to Thursday, April 24, at the retired naval officer’s request.

The committee was inaugurated on April 15, to conduct oversight of the state since the declaration of the State of Emergency and the appointment of Ibas as the Sole Administrator of Rivers.

Despite being in Abuja for his debut appearance at the National Economic Council, Ibas failed to honour the invitation of the lawmakers.

While the committee is yet to communicate any reason for Ibas’ absence, it is not clear whether a formal invitation letter was sent or acknowledged by the parties involved.

While members of the committee were seen exiting Room 301, the venue of the supposed meeting, Politics Nigeria gathered that the interactive session between Ibas and the lawmakers has been postponed indefinitely.
