A situation report compiled on Thursday reveals significant price hikes in transportation costs across various routes in Kaduna State. For instance:

– Sabon Tasha to Central Market: ₦500
– Gonin Gora to Kasuwa: ₦500
– Barnawa, Narayi, and Kakuri areas to Kasuwa: ₦400 each
– Kawo to Kasuwa: ₦300
– Maraban Rido to Sabo Tasha: ₦400

These prices have increased significantly from the previous range of ₦200-₦300.

During a local radio phone-in program on Friday, civil servants expressed their concerns about the recent price hike, stating that they can no longer afford to pay for transportation to their offices. Some blamed the NNPCL, while others criticized the country’s leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for harsh policies.

Our correspondent reported that transportation costs vary depending on the type of transport, with motorcycles being the most expensive option.

The situation has left many residents lamenting, with one resident pleading, “O God, please have mercy on the masses of this country. Deliver us from these Egyptians masquerading as leaders in Nigeria, who are busy stealing the resources of Nigerians, leaving them in abject poverty amidst God’s bountiful blessings of variety of material and mineral resources.”
