He made this statement at the Niger Delta Development Commission conference held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Expressing his opposition to protests, Dokubo noted that he is anti-protest and he declared his intentions to resist any protesters, stating that it is his right to do so just as it is people’s right to protest.

He also clarified that he does not plan to stand against President Bola Tinubu and his administration, dismissing claims that he has been paid by the ruling government to support them.

Dokubo referenced his past actions during the anti-SARS protester and hinted that he is prepared to take similar measures during the upcoming protests.

He stated,

“Those of you who are committed to the Niger Delta, we are not going to be part of any protest. If anybody has the right to protest, I also have the right to resist protest. Where your right stops, that is where my right begins. I am anti-protest. People will say they have given him money that is why he is talking this way. Ok, go and take your own because I have taken mine.

I have the capacity, if you bring your protest near me, you will collect. Those who brought the anti-SARS protest, they collected woto woto. The government knows it, everybody knows it, the security agencies know this. I gave them woto woto.”

He warned people not to be swayed by those who criticise the government and questioned their contributions to society and the people around them.

Dokubo added, “Don’t be deceived by flowery words, statements they make. Look at their life. What have they done to impact their society or environments. It is not today there is no hospital in Agbonima, Kalabariland. I will not expect that my friend came one year after I should say because there is no hospital in Bukuma that has closed since the 90s, I should kick my friend out of power. I will not be part of it. These are anarchists. When you fail an election, wait for another season.
