Nigerian music sensation Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, recently made a shocking revelation in an interview with City 105.5FM.
He disclosed that his twin brother, Peter Okoye, had him arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last December. According to Rudeboy, the arrest was primarily due to his lifestyle, which his brother seemingly disapproved of.
Rudeboy recounted being threatened with a 20-year prison sentence, leaving him bewildered and asking, “What did I do?” He explained that his brother’s petition led to his detention, and his account statements were printed out during the investigation. Rudeboy expressed relief that he wasn’t involved in fraudulent activities, as it would have been disastrous for him.
Paul Okoye further said that about a month ago, a family meeting was held, and Rudeboy was cleared of all allegations by the EFCC officials. Despite being declared innocent, Peter Okoye didn’t apologize for his actions. Rudeboy attributed the allegations to their differing lifestyles, stating that he’s a businessman who saves money, whereas his brother spends lavishly.
The EFCC investigation revealed that Peter Okoye had used Rudeboy’s funds for personal purchases dating back to 2006/2007.
