Speaking during a recent Instagram live session with fans, the ‘Zazu’ crooner claimed that “fighting” the government was a vain job, stressing that the government has nothing to lose.

He said: “I supported Tinubu but I didn’t get any money. I was used but I am calm. You’re k!lling yourselves in the name of fighting the government. The government has nothing to lose.”

Portable had earlier distanced himself from the planned August 1 nationwide protest.

The protest, which is themed “End Bad Governance in Nigeria”, commenced on the 1st of August and will end on 10th.

According to different reports, the protest is aimed at opposing the economic hardship and the rising cost of living affecting the citizens.

Portable announced that he would not be joining the protest and called the intending protesters “jobless”.

He also urged them to “fight for themselves and not for Nigeria”.

Portable said he faced criticism for his decision and for participating in the EndSARS protests in 2020.

He said he had a “poor” mindset then but is “rich now”, so his perspective has changed.
