President Tinubu Gives Appointment to Former INEC Chairman Jega

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Attahiru Jega as a presidential adviser and coordinator for the Presidential Livestock Reforms.

Jega, a former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had previously been named co-chairman of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms in 2024.

The committee was set up to find solutions to challenges in livestock farming and boost agricultural productivity. Its goal is to create better opportunities for farmers, herders, processors, and distributors in the livestock industry.

President Tinubu had emphasized the need to modernize traditional livestock farming methods. He stated that with the help of stakeholders, including state governments, the sector can be improved to support economic growth and development.
