A divorce-seeking woman, Rihanat Abdulsalam, has told the Area Court, Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State, that she has not met her husband’s family since she got married to him.
Rahanat who is seeking an end to the relationship between her and husband, Saheed Adegunju, told the court that her husband refused to take her to his family despite several pleas.
“He gives excuses whenever I ask him to take me to his family. This continued till I gave birth to our child,” she said.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), she also said that Saheed had stopped performing his responsibilities both as a father and husband.
“I pray the court for divorce.
“I want to take custody of our child while my husband should give me N30,000 monthly as our child’s maintenance,” she said.
The judge, Idris Etsu, ordered that the court process should be served on the husband again, saying, “The case will proceed whether he appears in court or not.”
He then adjourned the case.
