Young Nigerians are currently protesting over the economic hardship that has plagued the country while some are calling for the resignation of President Tinubu.

The protests that have taken a severe turn in many parts of Nigeria since they started on Thursday, August 1, 2024, have led to states in the south-eastern parts declaring a stay-at-home.

Despite the political class urging protesters to down their tools and opt for reasonable dialogue, protesters continued as they demanded good governance, eradication of hunger, and increased employment opportunities among other demands.

While the momentum might have dwindled, some protesters have been spotted along East-West Road, close to the University of Porth Harcourt as they chop and burn down trees in the area.

Similarly, a crowd of protesters have been spotted in Osogbo, Osun State while in Abeokuta, two protesters have also taken to the streets.

Meanwhile, in Lagos, reporters covering the Day 6 protest in Ojota, were confronted by some security personnel to leave the premises with immediate effect.

It was also reported that some protesters in the northern part of the country, particularly in Kano and Kaduna were spotted flying the Russian flag, which many believed its against sole reason for the protest.
