The comedian recently unveiled a music video in which he mimicked Muslim prayers and made references to fasting during the sacred month of Ramadan.
The video’s content, which aimed to illustrate the challenges and temptations associated with fasting, was met with disapproval from some members of the Muslim community, who deemed his representation of their religious practices as disrespectful.
Consequently, a wave of criticism emerged, with numerous Muslims voicing their concerns over what they viewed as an insensitive depiction of their faith.
Many took to social media to express their discontent, urging him to maintain respect for religious sensitivities in his work.
In light of the criticism, Oluwadolarz responded to the situation, asserting that many of his detractors do not possess a comprehensive understanding of their religion and merely adhere to its tenets without deeper reflection.
He conveyed his thoughts through a post on his social media account, stating:
“Some Muslims are criticizing me because of the post I made.
“It’s unfortunate, but it seems that many Muslims don‘t truly understand their religion; they just follow the rules blindly.”
