A gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, Bola Oyebamiji has resigned as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
This was contained in a statement signed by the Coordinator, AMBO Media Fronts, Adebayo Adedeji.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the primary of the APC will come up on December 13.
The statement said Oyebamiji appreciated President Bola Tinubu for allowing him to serve the nation as the chief executive of the country’s waterways agency for two years.
The statement added: “Within two years, his leadership worked assiduously to reduce deaths and accidents on Nigeria’s inland waterways by more than 70 per cent.
“His leadership also elevated safety awareness campaigns to unprecedented heights, while staff welfare received remarkable and widely commended attention.
“As he prepares for the next phase of his political journey, Asiwaju Oyebamiji reaffirms his commitment to offering quality leadership and excellent service to the people of Osun State as the state moves toward the 2026 governorship election. His vision is to place Osun on a path of sustainable economic prosperity that both present and future generations will appreciate and be proud of.”
The former Commissioner for Finance would hope to get the ticket of the APC to contest the August 08, 2026 election.
