E DON DEY HOT: Resistance Looms As Egbe Vigilante Team repel early morning terrorists’ attack in Kogi community

An early morning attack in Odorum in Egbe, Yagba West, Kogi State by some suspected terrorists has been repelled by the Egbe Vigilante Team operating in the area.

It was gathered that the terrorists invaded the community in the early hours of Monday, November 24, but were met with strong resistance from the operatives of the vigilante group.

Sources from the community said the armed bandits upon invading the community went into a gun battle with the security operatives.

According to the sources, for the coordinated response from the vigilante group, the incident would have led to a serious breach of security in the area.

While residents and top community leaders are still assessing the incident, it was also gathered that no casualty was recorded as the vigilante team successfully safeguarded the community.

Recall that the state has, on several occasions series of attacks by armed bandits terrorising the area.

The most recent attack was the abduction of a timber supplier and one of his staff in Okoloke, a community in Yagba West of Kogi State.

Sources had said that the timber supplier and his staff were abducted while they were on duty in a farm area in the community.
