Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of abusing power and weakening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the South-West region.

Speaking in an interview with TVC, Fayose alleged that Makinde had taken over all the choice lands in the state, while sidelining core party supporters who helped him rise to power.

“Almost everybody who worked for his ascension has been driven away,” he claimed.

Fayose further accused the Oyo governor of dismantling the PDP’s political structure in the region, saying Makinde’s leadership had led to widespread disaffection within the party.

“Makinde has destroyed all PDP structures in the South-West,” he said.

The former governor also questioned the credibility of the PDP’s internal processes, particularly in Osun State.

“A candidate who did not even obtain a PDP form eventually became the candidate,” Fayose alleged, in a veiled reference to recent party decisions.

Recounting a personal incident, Fayose alleged that he was targeted at a political event in Osun State, blaming Governor Makinde for orchestrating the attack.

“Makinde organised an attack on me in Osun,” he said, dismissing the Oyo governor as “a small boy” in political terms.

Fayose reaffirmed his allegiance to Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, who has been embroiled in internal power tussles within the PDP.

“I’m a Wike person. Anywhere Wike is, that is where I am,” he stated.

Despite his strong criticism of PDP leadership in the region, Fayose insisted he remains loyal to the party and has no plans to defect.

“I will never join the APC,” he vowed.

Reflecting on his political journey, the ex-governor said he had always maintained political independence and never relied on external support to win elections.
