Tinubu in closed-door meeting with PANDEF leaders

Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with some leaders and members of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).

The meeting which is taking place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock started at about 4.15 pm.

Although the agenda for the meeting was not made public, it started with a one-minute silence for the late leader of the group, Edwin Clark who died weeks ago at the age of 97.

Politics Nigeria, however, gathered that the participants present at the meeting would be discussing issues surrounding the Nigerian oil and gas sector and peace in in the Niger Delta region with the president.

Also, the growing crisis between Rivers State former governor, Nyesom Wike and his successor, Siminalayi Fubara might be discussed during the meeting.

Some of the delegates from PANDEF include King Alfred Diete-Spiff who led the group; Obong Victor Attah, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State; former governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, Tele Ikuru, Mike Ozekhome and Liyel Imoke.

Others are Timi Alaibe; the Jaja of Opobo, Professor Dandeson Jaja and Godknows Igali among others.
