Akpabio Defends Tax Laws, Says Gazetted Versions Accurately Reflect National Assembly Votes

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has dismissed allegations that Nigeria’s newly implemented tax laws were altered after being passed by the National Assembly. Responding to concerns raised by House of Representatives member Abdussamad Dakuku, Akpabio stated that any circulating versions not matching the official gazetted copies are invalid.

He confirmed that the four tax-related Acts were duly signed by President Bola Tinubu and certified by the Clerk to the National Assembly. Akpabio directed the Senate Clerk to distribute certified copies to all senators to prevent further speculation and ensure transparency.
