According to PUNCH, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted after the Federal High Court in Abuja admitted a video in which he was seen calling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a “drug lord”.
According to report, Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore tendered the video as evidence in court.
The report further stated that the judge, Mohammed Umar admitted the video clip alongside another one presented by the defence team in Omoyele Sowore’s trial on cybercrime charges.
Reacting, Reno Omokri stated that he made the unprintable remarks about Tinubu because he believed they were true during the time.
The former presidential aide said when he discovered that the statements were not true, he withdrew them.
According to PUNCH, Reno Omokri stated that;
“I do freely admit that I did make uncomplimentary remarks about the then presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, while believing those comments to be true at the time I uttered them.
“Subsequent to making those statements, I discovered that they were not and I publicly withdrew them in writing and on video”.
