Man Dies After Entering Well to Retrieve Burning Gas Cylinder in Kano

A 30-year-old man has died in Kano State after entering a well to retrieve a burning gas cylinder. The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident occurred in Gwarzo Local Government Area when the man, Ashahabu Ubale, descended into the well after the cylinder was thrown inside while still on fire.

The cylinder burst open, releasing a large amount of gas that reduced oxygen levels and caused him to suffocate. Firefighters retrieved him unconscious, and he was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The agency also reported recent separate drowning incidents in the state, urging public caution.
