NNPCL increases fuel price for second time in four days

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has increased the price of premium motor spirit for the second time in four days.

DAILY POST reports that the state-owned firm hiked its petrol on Saturday to N967 per liter, from N960, representing a N7 per liter upward price review.

The new fuel price has been implemented in NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and its environs as of Saturday.

The latest petrol increment by NNPCL followed an earlier price hike to N960 per liter from N875.

Other filling stations in the nation’s capital have also raised their pump to between N967 and N1,000 per liter.

DAILY POST reports that on Saturday crude oil prices rose by 9 percent to above $90 per barrel for Brent and West Texas Intermediate.

Recall that Dangote Refinery on Monday raised its gantry petrol price on the back of rising crude prices as a result of the turmoil in the Middle East.
