One of the #EndBadGovernance protest leaders detained by the Office of National Security Adviser, Babatunde Oluajo (aka OSB Sankara), has been released.

Oluajo was released on Thursday by the office of the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, SaharaReporters learnt.

However, SaharaReporters learnt that other prominent protest leaders, Adaramoye Michael, aka Michael Lenin and Mosiu Sodiq are still being detained.

SaharaReporters learnt that the activists were detained on the orders of the NSA.

They were arrested by security agents on Monday in Abuja.

For instance, Lenin was arrested at his home in Apo, Federal Capital Territory, around 2 a.m. on Monday.

It was learnt that he was later transferred to the Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters.

Damilare Adenola, the Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, stated that Lenin’s house was raided and he was assaulted during the arrest.

“Lenin was arrested by the DSS during a raid on his house around 2 a.m.,” Adenola said.

“He was arrested and tortured in the presence of his family. We are demanding his immediate and unconditional release.”

However, the DSS later denied the arrest of Michael Lenin in a statement posted on its official X account on Monday.

“The DSS can confirm that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin) is not in its custody,” it said, but noted that it carried out some other arrests in connection with the ongoing nationwide protests against hunger and bad governance in Nigeria.

A source revealed to SaharaReporters on Thursday that Oluajo had been released from custody. The source disclosed that lawyers were still working to secure the release of Lenin and Sodiq.

“Babatunde Oluajo, aka Sankara has been released by NSA’s office, but Lenin and Sodiq are still being detained. We are working on securing Kola Yahaya and Mosiu Sodiq today or early tomorrow.

“Michael Adaramoye (Lenin) was arrested and detained on orders of the NSA, but we are working with him and the IGP to secure his quick release too,” a source said.
