Several officers serving in the Nigeria Police Force have the fear of God in them, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has said.
Adejobi said this while condemning the insinuation by many Nigerians that the Police Force and its officers are corrupt.
In a post made on X, Adejobi said several officers within the force are decent people.
He said that officers within the Nigerian police work hard to ensure that the lives and property of citizens are protected.
He wrote, “It’s unfair to generalise that the Police and corruption are 5 and 6, as many officers in the force are decent and even have the fear of God; who have conscience, are responsible, contented, and kind.”
The FPRO further urged Nigerians to desist from abusing the rights of officers who work effortlessly to protect the people.
“Don’t trample on the rights of the police officers who work day and night to protect the lives and property of the citizens, with self-esteem and integrity,” Adejobi added.
