Governor’s aide regains freedom four days after abduction

Blessing Adagba, the coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State has been released by her abductors.

Adagba regained her freedom four days after she was abducted by some gunmen in the early hours of Friday, April 4.

It was gathered that Adagba was kidnapped by some men who wore military camouflage to invade her house.

The men were said to have invaded the home of the aide and ordered her to open her door but she refused.

They, however, succeeded in gaining access to Adagba’s residence before abducting her.

A family source privy to her release said her abduction had left them traumatised, especially with the growing insecurity across the LGA and the country in general.

The source also stated that Adagba’s kidnappers had demanded ransom but could not confirm whether it was paid before her release.

Confirming her release from the kidnapper’s den, the special assistant to the governor of the state on Internal Security, Ohaukwu local government area of the State, Tobias Ogbonna said Adagba was released on Tuesday night.

He, however, did not state whether any ransom was paid to secure her release from captivity.
