The French winger, who opted to join Bayern ahead of Chelsea, helped his new teammates beat German second-tier outfit Ulm 4-0 on Friday night in the DFB-Pokal first round.

Coming off the bench in the 77th minute with Bayern already 2-0 up, Olise set up Bayern’s third of the night within two minutes of being on the pitch.

Picking up the ball on the right flank, Olise dribbled into the box before squaring the ball to Kingsley Coman who had the easy task of slotting it home.

Bayern weren’t done yet though, as Harry Kane – another second half substitute – rose highest to make it 4-0 in injury time.

That goal means that Kane has now scored on his Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB-Pokal debut since joining Bayern.

In doing so, he has become just the second Bayern player after Leroy Sane to achieve the remarkable feat.

Kane and Olise will be hoping to bring silverware back to Bavaria following a trophyless 2023/24 season.

Upon signing for Bayern, Olise spoke of his delight at linking up with a side that will be competing for titles both domestically and in Europe.

“It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for.

“I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”

Meanwhile new boss Vincent Kompany has got off to a winning start – which he did without midfielder Leon Goretzka after omitting him from his matchday squad.

Expressing his delight at his side’s performance, he remarked: “I’m happy for the team first and foremost.

“We got off to a good start and took a 2-0 lead. I’m particularly happy that we kept a clean sheet.
