Presidency opens up on Tinubu’s ‘Medical Trip’ to France, reveals date of return

Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has dismissed social media rumors claiming President Bola Tinubu traveled to France for medical treatment, clarifying that the trip is strictly a working visit.

Bwala, speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, criticized unverified online reports, stating that anonymous claims should not be taken seriously.

“Sometimes on social media, someone will tweet something—you don’t even know who the person is. It could be someone with mental health issues,” he said. “The president did not go to see a doctor; he’s on a working visit, and we’ve been publishing his activities.”

President Tinubu departed Nigeria on April 2 for Paris, where he is expected to review his administration’s reforms and strategize ahead of his government’s second anniversary, according to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.

A video shared by the Presidency showed Tinubu boarding the presidential aircraft after exchanging farewells with top officials.

Onanuga confirmed that the president is scheduled to return to Nigeria by April 16.
