Analyst Reveals Identity Of Bandit Leader Holding Former NYSC DG Captive

A security and crisis expert/analyst has revealed the identity of a notorious kidnapper who allegedly led the abduction of a former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga (retired).

Popularly known as Bakatsine and @DanKatsina on X, the analyst said Babaro is the bandit kingpin who kidnapped Tsiga.

In a video post made on X, Bakatsine claimed that Babaro was arrested in April 2024, in an unexplainable circumstance was released back to the society.

He alleged that the suspected bandit has been responsible for several criminal activities against the Nigerian people and the nation.

Operating in Katsina State, Bakatsine said the bandit has continued with his reign of terror in locations like Bakori, Funtua, Faskari, Malumfashi and Kankara Local Government Areas of the state.

The video was recorded in April 2024 after security forces arrested him in Zamfara State. Had he not been released following his capture, his reign of terror against innocent Nigerians particularly in Bakori, Faskari, Funtua, Ƙankara and Malumfashi LGAs all in Katsina State could have been prevented,” Bakatsine said.

Tsiga was kidnapped Wednesday night at his house in Tsiga town in the Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Kidnapped alongside other residents of the town, his abductors have demanded a ransom of N250 million to secure his release.
