JUST IN: Nigerian Headmistress Collapsed, Slumps And D!es During Her Retirement Ceremony In Osun State

A retired headmistress, Mrs Dupe Omowumi Bello, collapsed and d!ed during her retirement ceremony in Osun State.

The tragic incident occurred on April 9, 2025, at the School for the physically challenged, Enu Odi, Ilesa.

It was gathered that Bello, revered by colleagues and students for her dedication and hard work, had recently concluded a long and distinguished career in education and the ceremony was intended to honour her meritorious years of service.

Sources revealed that she had just stepped down from her role as headmistress, where she had devoted herself to her students with unwavering passion.

Eyewitnesses revealed that Mrs. Bello arrived at the venue in high spirits, participating in a musical procession led by drummers.

“She was smiling and dancing. Everyone was filled with joy, no one anticipated what would happen next,” a source.

“Shortly after taking her seat at the high table with her husband, Mr. Bello began to exhibit signs of distress just minutes later.

“She looked fatigued as if she was struggling to breathe, people rushed to assist her.

“First aid was administered on her, but as her condition worsened. She was swiftly transported to the nearby Ijesaland Geriatric Centre. Medical staff there referred her to Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa, where she was pronounced d3ad on arrival,” she said.
