‘Abacha not alive to give his own side of story’, former lawmaker reacts to IBB’s revelations

A former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the Nigerian Senate, Shehu Sani has reacted to the contents of the autobiography presented by a former Head of State.

Sani said the details made against the late Sani Abacha by retired General Ibrahim Babangida over the June 12 presidential election annulment is unfortunate.

Babangida in his book blamed Abacha for the annulment of the June 12 election that saw Moshood Abiola as the winner.

The former Head of State also stated that, that particular election was Nigeria’s most credible and fair election at the time.

However, in his reaction, Sani said it is unfortunate that the late Abacha could not defend himself.

He said, “Unfortunately,Abacha is not alive to state his own side of the story.”
