Annie Idibia Clears the Air on Viral Backlash: Says She ‘Mistakenly’ Liked Ned Nwoko’s Wife’s Post

Nollywood star Annie Macaulay Idibia has spoken out to clear the air after sparking online controversy for liking a post shared by Laila Charani, the Moroccan wife of politician Ned Nwoko.

Laila’s post had accused her fellow wife, Regina Daniels, of resisting Nwoko’s alleged efforts to help her overcome drug and alcohol habits.

She also claimed she was introduced to drugs six years ago but recovered with Nwoko’s support. Annie’s unexpected “like” on the controversial post quickly drew public attention.

The gesture shocked many fans, who interpreted it as Annie showing support for Laila’s accusations against Regina.

Social media reactions escalated, with many questioning where Annie stood in the unfolding drama within the Nwoko household.

However, Annie swiftly addressed the matter on Instagram, explaining that the like was completely accidental. She wrote:

“In the process of reading the rubbish that was alleged about my baby, Regina, I liked the post mistakenly. Over here, we don’t play with loyalty, and my baby knows I have her back, front, and side. Make una rest abeg.”

Annie reaffirmed her loyalty to Regina Daniels, whom she has publicly supported in the past.

Just in October, she penned an emotional birthday tribute describing Regina as “a young queen with a heart of gold, selfless, loving, carefree, and brilliant.”
