Atiku Abubakar Resigns from PDP, Cites Party’s Shift from Founding Ideals

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing irreconcilable differences over the party’s direction.

In a heartfelt letter, Atiku expressed his gratitude for his time in the party but emphasized that PDP no longer aligned with its foundational principles. His resignation follows the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by opposition coalition leaders for the 2027 elections.
