Atiku, Obi cannot defeat Tinubu single-handedly

A former spokesperson for the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has said that one presidential candidate cannot achieve the agenda to oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Nigeria on Sunday, Okonkwo said no candidate could defeat Tinubu in 2027.

Highlighting the need for a coalition among the political parties, the Nollywood actor said things always appear impossible until it happens.

While stating that he cannot guarantee an alliance between the two-time presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the actor said he is sure there would be a coalition of politicians ahead of the 2027 polls.

“But there would be a coalition. Why? Because that would be the only choice the opposition has to make an impact.”

He further said that going into the next election without a coalition is like letting Tinubu have it on a platter of gold.

Asked if Tinubu is unbeatable without a formidable coalition, Okonkwo answered, “outrightly.”

He said, “No one single candidate can be Tinubu alone… and the reason is this. In Nigeria, we have entered into the unfortunate that you would not only win, you have to secure your victory. So, you need the elite to secure your victory even if the people vote for you”.
