Ballon d’Or 2025: Brighton praises Nnadozie after historic goalkeeper ranking

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has reacted after achieving a remarkable feat by finishing fourth in the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year category at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper was one of five goalkeepers who made the final shortlist for the prestigious award.

England and Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton clinched the award, with Germany and Gotham FC’s Ann-Katrin Berger finishing in second place.

Spain and Barcelona goalkeeper Cata Coll placed third, with Nigeria’s Nnadozie following in fourth. Netherlands and Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper, Daphne van Domselaar, completed the top five.

Brighton, in a social media post, celebrated the 24-year-old for her historic achievement.

“Chiamaka Nnadozie is fourth in the #TrophéeYachine rankings at this year’s #BallonDor! Congratulations on your nomination, Chiamaka!” the club wrote.

Nnadozie was outstanding at the African Women’s Championship, helping the Super Falcons secure their 10th continental title.
