The Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has suspended its academic activities due to the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest.

The decision was disclosed by the university’s spokesperson, Lamara Garba, in a statement on Monday.

Garba noted that the Vice Chancellor commended the university community for maintaining peace on campus.

“After a careful review of the situation in Kano State as a result of the National Protest, the University Management has directed that all scheduled lectures should be suspended forthwith,” the statement read.

Garba added that academic and administrative activities would resume once normalcy returns.

He urged students residing on campus to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring them of their safety.

“Students residing on the campuses are advised to continue to remain calm and law-abiding, as adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure their safety,” the statement continued.

The management emphasised its concern for the safety of lives and property, advising the university community to be cautious when moving outside the campuses to avoid potential danger.
