Servette entered the game after a 0-0 first-leg tie at Braga the previous week, but were unable to capitalize on home advantage, losing 2-1 at the Stade de Geneve. Amine El Ouzzani and Roberto Fernandez scored goals each side of halftime, which proved to be the difference.
They will now face the Blues in the Conference League play-off round, with the first leg scheduled for Thursday, August 22 at Stamford Bridge.
