Bode George fumes over possibility of Atiku’s emergence as PDP candidate

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George has said that if Atiku Abubakar emerges as the presidential candidate of the party in 2027 by manipulation there would problem.

Speaking on Channels Television, George said the party would stop existing should Atiku emerge as PDP’s presidential candidate in 2027.

According to George, during the last election, the former vice president was handed the ticket by manipulation in 2023 and that would not happen again.

“If he (Atiku) picks it (PDP’s ticket), that is the end of this party,” George said. “If he picks it by manipulation, which was what was done the last time, we will not accept it,” George said.

Recall that in 2019, the former vice president was the presidential candidate for the PDP and he contested for the election alongside Peter Obi as his running mate.

Again in 2023, Atiku contested under the PDP alongside a former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Sources within the party are also suggesting that there is the possibility that the former vice president would contest for Nigeria’s number-one seat in 2027.
