BREAKING! Ekiti Amotekun Corps arrests man for raping 13-yr-old girl

In a shocking incident, a 34-year-old man, Oluwabunmi Anifowose, has been arrested by operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl at Efon Alaaye in the Efon Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

According to Ekiti Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier General Olu Adewa (retd.), the minor was sent on an errand to buy fufu from another street when she was accosted by the suspect, leading to the rape incident. Adewa stated that Anifowose was arrested by Amotekun officers in Ijebu-Ijesha, Osun State, where he was hiding among suspected cult members.

“The Amotekun officers stated that the suspect was arrested in Ijebu-Ijesha, Osun State, where he was hiding himself in the midst of his colleagues who were suspected to be cult members,” Adewa said. “The suspect has been handed over to the police at Efon Ekiti Division for further investigation and necessary action.”

In a related development, Amotekun operatives at Ikole Ekiti arrested two men, 30-year-old Mr. Usman Sheidu and 32-year-old gateman Mr. Olalekan Aluko, for allegedly stealing an iron door at the Oke-ljebu Agege area in the Ikole Local Government Area. Upon interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the crime and have since been handed over to the Divisional Police in Ikole Ekiti for further profiling.
