The ten-day nationwide protest has entered Day 6, with residents in Daura Kastina joining the protest against hunger and bad governance in Nigeria.
In a video circulating on social media, these protesters were seen ripping the roofs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party office in Daura.
Daura is the hometown of immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari. The angry protesters gathered on the streets, demanding a better government under President Bola Tinubu.
Kastina State joined other northern states in massive protests due to the economic hardship that has crippled many businesses and citizens.
The nationwide protest began on Thursday, August 1, 2024, to demand an end to bad governance, insecurity, corruption, and the high cost of living, among other crises.
In Kano, where some protesters were killed, the government declared a curfew to restrain the violence.
