According to sources, the violent confrontation erupted when a member of one cult group sold drugs to a rival gang member without receiving payment.

The ensuing dispute over the debt recovery quickly escalated into a brutal and merciless beating of the debtor.

In a shocking turn of events, the beaten individual sought revenge, attacking and killing his debtor in a gruesome manner.

The retaliation sparked a chain reaction of violence, with both cult groups mobilizing their members to exact revenge.

The resulting bloodbath has left Ughelli metropolis reeling, with two individuals killed at the Okogbe axis of Otovwodo and another two at Iwhreko and Ogor Park, respectively.

Graphic videos of the carnage, obtained by our correspondent, reveal the gruesome aftermath of the killings, with victims’ bodies lying in pools of blood, their heads and bodies mutilated by machetes.

The sheer brutality of the killings has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents living in fear of further violence.
