BREAKING NEWS: Congratulations pour in as Nigerian-American Kelechi Ndukwe promoted to Captain of U.S. Navy

Congratulations are pouring in for Captain Kelechi Ndukwe, a Nigerian American, who has recently been promoted to the rank of U.S. Navy Captain.... CLICK TO READ THE FULL NEWS HERE▶▶

Ndukwe, a Navy SEAL from Abia State, has made history as the first Nigerian to achieve this rank in the U.S. Navy.

In 2021, he was promoted to Lieutenant and took command of the US Navy Guided Missile Destroyer, USS Halsey (DDG-97).

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, announced the promotion on her X page (formerly Twitter) and congratulated Captain Ndukwe.

Sharing a picture of him, she wrote, “A hearty congratulations to Navy Captain Kelechi R Ndukwe who has been promoted to the rank of Navy Captain from Commander in the US Navy. He is the first Nigerian American to command a US warship. #ProudlyNigerian.”

Nigerians have taken to social media to celebrate Captain Ndukwe’s achievement, praising him for making Nigerians proud.
