The federal government announced that $50 million in cryptocurrency and $38 million in four cryptocurrency wallets have been blocked.
It was reported that political figures in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, and Abuja contributed N4 billion to the protests.
This information was shared by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, during the first-ever Council of State meeting convened by Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, August 13.
Ribadu addressed ‘The Nationwide Protest and Its Impact on National Security’ during the meeting, revealing that a European mastermind was responsible for the proliferation of foreign flags during the protests.
Ribadu also mentioned that the individuals involved with the accounts would soon be declared wanted, and a source claims that some politicians have been arrested in Abuja, Kano, and Kaduna.
A source also revealed that the government has traced $50 million in donations to crypto wallets and has successfully blocked four of those wallets containing $38 million.
