Sharing his reasons for ignoring Atiku and switching sides, Omokri noted that Tinubu is a better politician than Atiku and Obi.
He wrote: “If there are three names on the ballot in 2027 and they are as follows: Waziri Atiku Abubakar, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Gregory Obi and God spares my life and the lives of the above people, I will vote for and work vehemently for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, so help me, God!”
“In terms of acknowledging loyalty, economic handling, dispute resolution and having a forgiving heart, Asiwaju is a far better politician than anyone on that list.”
In another tweet, he spoke about his interests in politics, which he believes are different from others.
“In politics, you have your interests. Mine has been that, as a microscopic minority, Nigeria affords me the freedom and protection that my people and I will not get if Nigeria breaks up. That is why I have pushed for devolution of powers from the federal government to the states and local governments.
This gives minorities the right of self-determination within a federation without being decimated by sub-national groups that may use their numbers to overwhelm minorities.
In President Bola Tinubu, I see the Nigeria of my dreams emerging. One where the federating units are free to move at their own pace without leaving the federation.
As such, I am prepared to swallow my pride and digest my ego. As George Bernard Shaw said:
