His comment comes after a video of Peter Obi speaking about the upcoming protests scheduled to begin on August 1 aimed to fight against bad governance and hardship in the country.

In a short clip circulating on social media, Peter Obi stated that it is time for Nigerians to demand their economically rights and better governance.

He said, “When the Kenyan’s rioted, their president listened. He went back and cut down, removing everything concerning the First Lady and Second Lady from the budget. As far back as 2000, Nigeria has been home to the highest number of homeless people in the world.

In the 2000, our poverty rate and those living under poverty or multidimensional poverty were below 100 million today we are over 130 million.

Every measure and index of development in Nigeria is headed south, and this has worsened in the past nine years and every one can see what has happened in the past year. That is why, as I said, it is something you have to look at and reflect yourself.”

He added, “If we are at war let’s declare war and everyone knows we are at war. There is nothing wrong with that. This is not a time for anybody to keep quiet. This is not time for you to even a time for you to be honouring politicians. Until they start working.”

Reacting to Obi’s remark, Omokri condemned the former Anambra Governor for failing to speak about the killing of some police officers by unknown gunmen in his home state.

Taking to his X handle, he wrote, “Three days ago, at Awka, the Anambra State capital, Peter Obi said, “If we are at war, let’s declare war, and everybody knows we are at war”. Two days later, unknown gunmen killed four police officers in Imo.

More than twenty-four hours after their death, Peter Obi has not condemned the killing or even acknowledged that such an incident occurred.

This is a man who immediately condemns even the smallest act of violence or insecurity if it happens outside the Southeast.

Is this killing an act of the war Peter Obi talked about three days ago, in Awka, Anambra, on Saturday, July 28, 2024, while he spoke at the inauguration of Professor Nkemdili Nonyelu as a district governor of Rotary International?

Would Peter Obi still be silent after twenty-four hours if policemen were killed in Lagos, Sokoto, Ibadan, or Kano?”
