BREAKING NEWS: Security guard killed by hit-and-run driver in Ilorin

A security guard, identified as Lanre Ismael, has been killed by a hit-and-run driver in Ilorin. The incident occurred on Saturday along Unity Road, Ilorin metropolis at about 12:00 am, according to sources.

The deceased was reportedly going to resume for night duty in one of the establishments along Yidi Road when the incident happened. He was first hit by a car and subsequently run over by other vehicles on the highway.

It was gathered that the deceased was released on Saturday morning by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, following allegations that the shops where he was assigned to guard were burgled recently. DAILY POST gathered that his remains have since been buried in Ilorin according to Islamic rites.
