Tomonobu Kaya, a senior official at Interpol’s Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre, highlighted the operation’s success in delivering a “major blow” to the criminal syndicate. Kaya emphasized “They are very organised and very structured.” He noted that Black Axe is involved in high-value online scams, exploiting new technologies and fintech advancements to move money illicitly around the globe.
