Court issues fresh directive to all parties involved

All parties involved in the crisis between the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the Kogi Central lawmaker, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan have been ordered to desist from granting press interviews or streaming proceedings of the court on social media.

The new order to Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan’s team and three others were handed to them by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Delivering a ruling on Friday, April 4, Justice Binta Nyako said there shall be no press interviews by the parties and their lawyers regarding the matter before the court.

Nyako’s order followed a complaint by Kehinde Ogunwumiju, the counsel to the Senate President who informed the court that the plaintiff was visiting television stations and granting interviews on the matter.

The judge also barred the lawyers and parties involved from streaming the proceedings of the court on the matter on any social media platform.
