The members’ suspension was announced by LP’s State Executive Council following allegations of insubordination and indiscipline.
The affected members were all accused of plotting to cause a crisis within the party and the state at large.
Speaking on the suspension, the Imo State LP chairman, Calistus Ihejeagwa said the members would appear before a disciplinary committee for investigation.
He also stated that the party has passed a vote of no confidence on the state governor, Hope Uzodimma.
According to the chairman, the governor needs to return to the state and tackle the challenges – of hunger, insecurity and the like – facing the people.
He said, “On the state of governance in Imo State, the SEC passed a vote of no confidence in Governor Uzodimma as there is hunger in the land.
“The SEC calls on the governor to return home and focus fully on governance,” he said.
