Dangote regains top position as Africa’s richest man

This is great news as he had lost his position to South Africa’s Johann Rupert, over the weekend.

Bloomberg stated that Aliko Dangote’s wealth rose in the last 24 hours by $144 million to $13.7 billion on Monday, August 5, 2024.

On the other hand, Rupert who had the title of Africa’s Richest Man over the weekend lost $334 million in the last 24 hours.

Dangote is now ranked as the 149th richest man in the world, up from his previous ranking of 156th.

Dangote’s major source of wealth comes from his 86% stake in the Dangote Cement.

He holds the shares directly and indirectly via his Dangote Industries conglomerate.

Other assets of the billionaire includes Dangote Sugar, NASCON Allied Industries, and the United Bank for Africa.

His cash holdings are based on an analysis of dividends, taxes, insider transactions, and other expenditures.
