Fayose’s Brother Accuses Lere Olayinka Of Defending Wike Amid Corruption Allegations, Says FCT Minister’s Children Live In Luxury While His Struggle In Ekiti
In a post on his Facebook page, Fayose alleged that while Olayinka continues to stand firmly by Wike, the minister has provided immense wealth and luxury for his family. According to him, Olayinka’s children are being neglected in Ekiti.
Prince Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has accused Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of neglecting his children in Ekiti while defending his boss.
In a post on his Facebook page, Fayose alleged that while Olayinka continues to stand firmly by Wike, the minister has provided immense wealth and luxury for his family. According to him, Olayinka’s children are being neglected in Ekiti.
Fayose alleged that while Olayinka’s children remain in Ekiti struggling with difficult living conditions, the media aide spends his time online defending Wike.
According to him, Wike has allegedly secured multi-million-dollar properties and assets for his children, including a mansion in Florida, plots of land in Abuja, Rolls-Royce cars, and other houses in Rivers State.
He said that only in Nigeria would the poor defend the rich and their children, describing the situation as a reflection of what he called a chronic slavery mentality.
He questioned why Olayinka would defend his boss so fervently when Wike’s children live in comfort abroad while his own children face hardship at home.
The younger Fayose went further to allege that Wike’s children, despite not being publicly known for engaging in any major businesses or enterprises, have acquired vast wealth under questionable circumstances.
He suggested that the properties linked to Wike’s family were not earned through legitimate means but rather through privileges of political office and influence.
Speaking in pidgin, he said, “Wike Pikin dey enjoy Rolls Royce, house for Florida, land for Abuja, houses for Rivers State. But poor man pikin dey struggle for Ekiti. Lere dey defend pikin wey get house for Florida. While Lere pikin dey struggle carry slate go school. Na who we dey deceive? The worst part be say na poor people dey defend am online while their children dey suffer (Wike’s child is enjoying a Rolls Royce, a house in Florida, land in Abuja, and properties in Rivers State. But the poor man’s child is struggling in Ekiti. Lere is busy defending the child who has a house in Florida, while his own child is struggling to go to school with a slate. Who are we deceiving? The sad part is that it is the poor who defend him online, even as their own children suffer).”
He also criticised Nigerians for what he described as their tendency to defend the rich and powerful at the expense of truth and justice, insisting that such attitudes deepen inequality and perpetuate bad governance.
He pointed out that many Nigerian leaders’ children live in affluence abroad while ordinary citizens continue to endure poverty, poor education, and a broken system at home.
“In Naija nah the poor dey defend the rich and his children….
Lere Olayinka FCT minister SA media children are in Ekiti struggling but he is busy online defending his Boss Wike wey his children get house for Florida America, land for Abuja allegedly and RR / houses for Rivers State 😮😮😮😮
Slavery mentally is a Chronic disease (In Nigeria, it is the poor who defend the rich and their children. Meanwhile, the children of Lere Olayinka, Special Adviser on Media to the FCT Minister, are struggling in Ekiti, yet he is busy online defending his boss, Wike, whose children reportedly own a house in Florida, land in Abuja, a Rolls Royce, and properties in Rivers State. This slavery mentality is a chronic disease),” Fayose wrote.
SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Isaac Fayose criticised Olayinka after he mocked activist Omoyele Sowore over his stance on cannabis legalisation.
Olayinka had ridiculed Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), for proposing the legalisation of cannabis as a strategy for revenue generation.
In a Facebook post, Olayinka claimed Sowore wanted to turn Nigerians into “weed smokers,” adding in Yoruba, “Awon President Igbolabi” (meaning “president of smokers”).
Responding in the comment section, Isaac Fayose accused Olayinka of ignorance, stressing that cannabis has global economic value and is already an ingredient in pharmaceutical products such as pain relievers.
Fayose, while educating Olayinka, said cannabis is money anywhere in the world, noting that it is an ingredient in Panadol and other pharmaceutical products.
Fayose concluded by describing Olayinka as an “illiterate cobbler turned journalist” who fails to understand the economic and medical importance of cannabis.
Fayose stated, “Local boy ….Weed is money anywhere in the world…”
