Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Assistant Director Dies After Living In Office For Two Years

An Assistant Director at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Yahaya Umar, has died after allegedly living in his office for over two years due to a lack of housing. Umar, popularly known as “Socials,” was discovered dead in his office at the FRCN headquarters in Abuja in early June. Before his death, he anchored network news at 7 a.m., 4 p.m., and 10 p.m. daily.

Multiple sources revealed that he had no accommodation and had turned his office into a living space since his transfer from the Kaduna station to Abuja. Household items such as buckets and sleeping mats were found in his office after his death.
