Osimhen has been at the center of a controversial transfer from Napoli, with several European clubs showing interest. While the interest persists, Osimhen’s wage bill and release clause have been the major impediments.

Ideye, who experienced his own notable transfers, including a surprising move to China, has used his career as a case study to offer guidance to Osimhen amidst swirling reports ahead of the transfer deadline day.

The 2013 AFCON winner took to social media to narrate his own unexpected transfer to China’s Tianjin TEDA.

Ideye revealed that he had no initial plans to move to the Chinese Super League but was swayed by an irresistible financial offer.

He recounted how, upon seeing the lucrative numbers presented by his agent, his wife promptly packed his bags for the imminent departure.

He wrote on X: “I had no plans to go to China, Olympiacos received an offer from TEDA which they can’t refuse, my agent negotiated with TEDA about my salary and bonuses. When I saw the long numbers, I told my wife to pack my luggage for me to leave the next day LOL…”

This advice comes as Osimhen faces a choice between a high-profile move to Chelsea or lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League.

Ideye’s recent post comes days after he expressed disappointment at Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, for potentially ruling out a Chelsea move and criticized the lack of respect he believes Osimhen receives from European clubs.
