A former aide to Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that the North will reveal its position on the 2027 presidential election within the next six months.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed said the North is set to take a definite position should the present administration led by Bola Tinubu continue to ignore the region’s grievances.
In a video seen by Politics Nigeria, Baba-Ahmed who spoke in Hausa urged Nigerians from the Northern region to remain united.
“By God’s grace, in the next six months, the north will come out and tell their next direction.
“It’s left for the remaining Nigerians either they follow us, or we go alone. We know nobody will become president without the North,” Baba-Ahmed said.
He also warned the people against those who he described as traitors seeking to weaken the region from within.
Noting that the region will stand to defend itself, Baba-Ahmed said everyone from the North must be very careful of the traitors.
“The north will stand to defend herself, I swear to God. North should be very careful, and avoid traitor politicians and also avoid what might divide them.”
